Day 87:2000 Hours (Post 15)

The first six posts are quite long.  So now we will be releasing each chapter split into weekly segments of ~250 words (starting with post # 7).  The segments will be posted every Wednesday.

We hope this will make reading them more practical.

Please leave some feedback, if you have any thoughts.  It would make our day, thank you!

“Whoa”, Ducky and Momo said in unison.  The mirrors glinted in the daylight and as they walked up to them, they could see what ChipChip had meant.  In one of the mirrors, they actually all looked quite tall and in another, they seemed to shrink to nothing.  Not to mention the rest of the mirrors that showed everything in-between.

They entered the mirror labyrinth and it was quite disorienting.  It was so dark, with just enough light to see the ever surrounding reflections.  They had to move very slowly and carefully.  More than once, they almost stumbled.  It seemed like an eternity, when Ducky felt a tug and they were free.  They covered their eyes with their paws and wings.  It was blindingly bright.  They could see bright colors, even with their eyes closed.  They inched forward, slowly.

When they opened their eyes, they jumped back in panic.  They were encircled by a group of strange animals.  They were all wearing masks, there were empty eyes staring back at them from all sides.  They both thought maybe they should not have come.  ChipChip started to say something, but cut off when a loud booming voice sounded from outside the circle.   ChipChip and every animal stiffened suddenly and the fear was palpable.  This was their leader and in that instant of terror, they knew with absolute certainty, that they should not have come.
