Hello!

Hi, I’m Kristen Townsend, an elementary educator, creator, and lifelong learner with a passion for making education engaging, creative, and memorable. After earning my degree in Elementary Education from East Tennessee State University and transitioning from a career as a Senior Staff Accountant, I discovered that some of the most powerful learning experiences happen when students are invited to explore, create, and connect lessons to their own interests.

Stuff Motion Studios was created to share the lessons, activities, videos, and educational resources I’ve developed for the classroom. Along the way, KoonKoon the raccoon and ChipChip the chipmunk became unexpected teaching partners, starring in original stop-motion adventures, educational videos, and classroom stories that help bring learning to life. Whether they’re investigating mysteries, exploring science concepts, or encouraging creative writing, their adventures are designed to spark curiosity and show students that learning can be both meaningful and fun.

From hands-on science investigations and literacy adventures to financial literacy simulations and creative storytelling projects…my goal is to help teachers create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. Whether students are solving mysteries, investigating scientific questions, debating classroom rules, or making real-world decisions, I believe learning is most powerful when students are actively involved in the process.

When I’m not creating educational resources, you’ll usually find me working on stop-motion videos, designing projects with my Cricut and 3D printers, or planning the next adventure for KoonKoon and ChipChip.
